Believing that the sun improves the appearance of skin acne is an illusion. The beneficial effects of the sun last for only a few weeks. Exposure to the sun dries the skin which increases the effect of the tan and evens out skin tone which makes it seem that the spots have disappeared. The problem is that when acne is exposed to UV rays this leads to a thickening of the surface layer of the skin, which prevents the evacuation of sebum and subsequently leads to dark spots.
Sometimes acne can be accelerated by the sun, which can trigger “solar acne”.
It is advisable to consult a dermatologist, trust in his diagnosis and follow his advice.
